A New Year. A New Look. A New Grande Colonial.
We've started off the year in grand style with a fresh new lobby and meeting space and some exciting new accolades.

2011 was an exciting year for our hotel. Not only did we maintain our AAA Four Diamond Award for 2012, but we were also awarded a "Fodor's Choice Award" by Fodor's Travel; an Eco Green-Leaf Rating for our on-site conservation efforts; Elite Gold Certification from Elite Meetings International; and Gayot's Top 10 Boutique Hotels in San Diego.

And 2012 is no exception. We are delighted to announce the completion of a $500,000 renovation of our foyer, lobby and two adjacent meeting rooms. (Read more about the refurbishment below.)

And if that weren't enough...the hotel was also just ranked #49 of the Top 50 Hotels in California by U.S. News & World Report, as well as the #6 Best Hotel in San Diego (out of 438 San Diego hotels). And we continue to be ranked #1 to #3 on Trip Advisor out of 25 La Jolla hotels.

Redesigned Lobby Showcases a Legacy of Luxury.

In anticipation of our Centennial anniversary next year, we are delighted to unveil a $500,000 renovation of our lobby and meeting space. Taking a cue from the still intact Colonial Revival-style, turn-of-the-century architecture of the Grande Colonial, renowned designer Warren Sheets updated the space in a classic European residential style -- juxtaposed with subtle contemporary nuances.

New Meeting Space: Where Business Meets Pleasure.

In addition to the main lobby, two of our adjacent meeting rooms also received upgrades and enhancements. Artfully recapturing the hotel's storied past with a keen focus on modern sensibilities, the new design of both meeting rooms infuses a classic European ambiance, as well as a refined, contemporary sophistication -- all enhancing the ocean views.

New Catering Menus.

And our nationally-acclaimed Chefs, Jason Knibb and Jack Fisher, have made the wait for sunny days and warmer weather worthwhile with fresh-from-the-garden flavors throughout the new private dining menus, available for brunches, lunches, dinners and other events.
