Leo Lopez

Director of Sales
Leo Lopez joined the Grande Colonial team as Director of Sales in March of 2016. In this position, he leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales and catering sales functions, focusing on the group market. Before joining the Grande Colonial, Leo spent more than 16 years working at another La Jolla hotel, where he worked his way up from a Banquet Captain to Director of Group Sales.

He is a native of San Diegan, bringing a wealth of knowledge about the San Diego and La Jolla markets to the sales team. In 2019, he was named San Diego's ‘Site Experience Salesperson of the Quarter' by the San Diego Tourism Authority. A graduate of San Diego State University, Leo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.

He and his wife Julia live in Eastlake with their daughter and two sons. When not working or busy with his family, Leo enjoys good food, wine, sports, exercise, taking advantage of the San Diego lifestyle, and, of course, staying current on hospitality and meetings industry trends. He looks forward to building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with the customers of the Grande Colonial hotel.

Daisy Carrillo

Catering Sales & Service Manager
Daisy Carrillo became a member of the Grande Colonial's sales and catering team in May of 2021. A native of Los Angeles, she entered the hospitality industry as a Sales & Marketing Assistant for a regional restaurant group. She quickly moved up to a Regional Catering Sales Manager, where she spent the next three years. Daisy ventured south to San Diego to further her career as a Catering Sales Manager.

She joined a boutique property in the historic Old Town national park and worked in Catering Sales at another property in San Diego's Mission Valley. In each position, she developed a passion for interacting with guests, planning, and executing events of all sizes, from Bat and Bar Mitzvahs to corporate meetings and wedding celebrations.

Daisy is exceptionally family-orientated, spending as much time as possible with her family. In addition, she loves to travel, go on adventures around the city, and visit trendy restaurants. She looks forward to creating truly memorable events through her precision to detail, flawless execution, and ensuring every guest who comes across the Grande Colonial feels like a true VIP.

Sarah Groesbeck

Sales & Catering Administrative Assistant
Sarah Groesbeck became a member of the Grande Colonial's sales and catering team in June of 2022, returning to where she began her hospitality industry career back in 2010 where she spent five years working as a front desk clerk.  Most recently, she spent one year working in accounting for Remington Hotels.  She also spent time working as a Sales Coordinator for the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in San Diego's Del Mar community and a Guest Service Supervisor at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.  Sarah holds an Associates Degree in Hospitality/Administration Management.
A native of San Diego, Sarah spends much of her free time baking, training for triathlons, and going to San Diego Gulls hockey games. She is the anchor of the Grande Colonial's sales and catering department, ensuring all travel arrangements for in-house groups and corporate clientele are seamlessly executed.
